Karson was born on his due date! 9/20/09 at 9:29pm. My water broke at about 3:30 AM and by 7am my contractions were an hour apart. We went to church (and didn't tell anyone) and went to lunch after church. By 6pm the contractions were 5-10 minutes apart. Our wonderful doula made it to our place and we headed for the hospital. By the time we were on the elevator at the hospital I was feeling "pushy." We were checked in to the hospital at around 7pm and Karson was born at 9:29, just 2 and a half hours later. It was a very uneventful birth, no complications and we have a very healthy baby boy.
Big brother was scared of him at first but is now warming up to him. He's already sick of hearing "No, that's the baby's," and is particularly upset that he can't have the baby's pacifier (which the baby doesn't use much but big brother walks around with up to 5 of them as much as possible).
Proud Daddy and I are doing well. We're trying to re-adjust to waking up several times a night for feedings and have realized that we've forgotten how to diaper a newborn. Once you're used to diapering a toddler it is very strange to go back to diapering a newborn.
Anyway, I plan to try to work on the business some next week as we try to fall into some kind of schedule for all the feedings, diaper changes, naps, etc.
